Prayer Guide During COVID 19
Pray that God would calm fears and remind His people of our identity—one of love, not of fear. 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” Pray that the church would be a calming presence, radiant light, and humble love in the face of so much confusion and darkness.

Pray that we would be people of compassion who intentionally find ways to reach out to others who are scared and find ways to encourage them. Ask the Holy Spirit to bring people to our minds who need help and upliftment. John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid.”

Pray with first-responders around the world who are tasked with triaging, testing, and treating the increasing number of people. Ask God to give them patience, stamina, health, wisdom and a gentle spirit as they work to navigate fears and offer effective treatment. Ask Him to provide discernment with testing patients and give them the proper resources they need to work and be protected. “but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31
Pray with our world, national, state, and local leaders as they work with healthcare organizations and the medical community to develop next steps. Pray that all would work to be united for the common good.
Pray with researchers and biologists as they work to develop a coronavirus vaccine. Pray for wisdom, breakthrough, and insight.

Pray with the truck drivers, food and medical industry trying to keep up with increasing demand. Pray for a renewal of their health, safely, and resources to continue to serve. Pray for peace as they face frustrated customers, clients, and patients. Pray for the hearts of our community to be generous to one another.

Pray with believers to use this time at home effectively to pray, read their Bibles, and teach their family about God. Pray for patience and grace as we are in smaller spaces with one another to serve one another in love.

Pray with the families affected by COVID 19. Pray for them in the unknown of what the future holds, and for those who want to gather and mourn publically their loved one they lost but cannot. Ask God to comfort the broken-hearted and to strengthen those who are suffering physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally.
Pray with families who are isolated and cannot see their loved ones, due to risk of exposure. Help them to find new ways and methods to connect.

Pray with those whose jobs or hours have been cut due to preventing outbreak. Pray for parents who are struggling to work and care for their children. Pray that as Christians we would look for ways to reach out to families in their communities to provide for them and show them the love of Christ.

Pray that God’s people would be unified as one Church, to pray for this disease progression to be stopped and for God to use this time for good. Pray that our resources would be stretched to accommodate needs.

Pray that we as God’s people would be reminded daily of our hope in Christ and the truth that our Savior who died and rose for us has already overcome the world. Pray that the Spirit would prompt us to live in hope and give us discernment how to use these days to build God’s Kingdom as it is in heaven. “And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” Romans 5:5
